It is a classical psychological warfare tactic given a 21st century makeover - leveraging US-based social media networks and organized by US-funded fronts iLaw, Prachatai, TLHR, Amnesty International, and EnLAW.

The amount of money, time, and technical expertise required to create this project means the US government has recently invested more money and support specifically to aid ongoing anti-government protests - despite denying it twice.

MOB Data Thailand appears similar to a project US-based tech giant Google proposed to aid the US State Department in the overthrow of the Syrian government.
In Syria it was revealed that Google had admittedly helped the US government in its efforts to violently overthrow the government through a similar interactive map targeting the Syrian population psychologically.
An interactive tool created by Google was designed to encourage Syrian rebels and help bring down the Assad regime, Hillary Clinton's leaked emails have reportedly revealed.
By tracking and mapping defections within the Syrian leadership, it was reportedly designed to encourage more people to defect and 'give confidence' to the rebel opposition.
In Syria the scheme failed - primarily because of Syria's willingness to uproot foreign fronts posing as nongovernmental organizations within its borders and its quick and decisive actions in securing its information space.
Thailand must likewise take seriously the threats of foreign governments clearly behind ongoing unrest and their intentions to divide and destroy Thai society as well as target and destroy its economy. Using Syria, Libya, Yemen, Ukraine, and even Hong Kong as clear examples of what happens when US-funded sedition runs out of control - it is clear the serious threat Thailand now faces.
