Perfect Timing: NATO-Backed Terror Group Kills French Tourist

September 25, 2014 (Tony Cartlaucci - LD) - Terrorists aligned to Al Qaeda have allegedly beheaded a French tourist kidnapped in the North African nation of Algeria. 

The BBC in their article, "French hostage Herve Gourdel beheaded in Algeria," would report that (emphasis added): 

The beheading, the spokesman says, is to "avenge the victims in Algeria... and support the caliphate" proclaimed by IS in Iraq and Syria.

Jund al-Khilafa (Soldiers of the Caliphate) pledged allegiance to IS on 14 September. 

Until then it had been known as part of al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), which grew out of an Algerian militant group and is now active across North and parts of West Africa.

It was Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb, or AQIM, that fought alongside terrorist groups armed and backed by NATO in the 2011 invasion and bombardment of Libya in efforts to overthrow the government of Muammar Qaddafi. That this previously NATO-backed terrorist organization has committed this atrocity, just in time to bolster Western rhetoric in support of the US assault on Syria is highly suspicious. 

AQIM Fought Alongside NATO-Backed Terrorists in Libya 

In a 2007 West Point Combating Terrorism Center (CTC) report and a 2011 CTC report, "Are Islamist Extremists Fighting Among Libya's Rebels?," AQIM is specifically mentioned as working closely with the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) in NATO-backed efforts to overthrow the Libyan government.

Both AQIM and LIFG are listed by the US State Department as foreign terrorist organizations (FTOs) but were in fact leading the fight against the Libyan government in 2011 with NATO weapons and air support. It would be France itself that would drop weapons into the country illegally to bolster their fighting capabilities during the conflict. In the aftermath of Libya's destruction these weapons would be used for extremist campaigns both inside Libya's borders and beyond them. Libya itself remains to this day ravaged by terrorist militants. 

As with ISIS' previous murders, the timing and location of this most recent atrocity, as well as the nationality of ISIS' latest victim could not serve Western interests better even if the West itself carried out the execution. This leads many to suspect the West was either directly or indirectly responsible for the orchestrated atrocity carried out by militant groups it has directly armed and funded in the past.

By Design: French Mali Invasion Spills into Algeria

January 17, 2013 (LD-Tony Cartalucci) - Exactly as predicted, the ongoing French "intervention" in the North African nation of Mali has spilled into Algeria - the next most likely objective of Western geopolitical interests in the region since the successful destabilization of Libya in 2011.

In last week's "France Displays Unhinged Hypocrisy as Bombs Fall on Mali" report, it was stated specifically that: 

"As far back as August of 2011, Bruce Riedel out of the corporate-financier funded think-tank, the Brookings Institution, wrote "Algeria will be next to fall," where he gleefully predicted success in Libya would embolden radical elements in Algeria, in particular AQIM. Between extremist violence and the prospect of French airstrikes, Riedel hoped to see the fall of the Algerian government. Ironically Riedel noted: 

Algeria has expressed particular concern that the unrest in Libya could lead to the development of a major safe haven and sanctuary for al-Qaeda and other extremist jihadis.

And thanks to NATO, that is exactly what Libya has become - a Western sponsored sanctuary for Al-Qaeda. AQIM's headway in northern Mali and now French involvement will see the conflict inevitably spill over into Algeria. It should be noted that Riedel is a co-author of "Which Path to Persia?" which openly conspires to arm yet another US State Department-listed terrorist organization (list as #28), the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK) to wreak havoc across Iran and help collapse the government there - illustrating a pattern of using clearly terroristic organizations, even those listed as so by the US State Department, to carry out US foreign policy."

Now, it is reported that "Al Qaeda-linked" terrorists have seized American hostages in Algeria in what is being described by the Western press as "spill over" from France's Mali operations.

The Washington Post, in their article, "Al-Qaida-linked militants seize BP complex in Algeria, take hostages in revenge for Mali," claims:

"As Algerian army helicopters clattered overhead deep in the Sahara desert, Islamist militants hunkered down for the night in a natural gas complex they had assaulted Wednesday morning, killing two people and taking dozens of foreigners hostage in what could be the first spillover from France’s intervention in Mali."

France Displays Unhinged Hypocrisy as Bombs Fall on Mali

NATO funding, arming, & simultaneously fighting Al Qaeda from Mali to Syria.

January 11, 2013 (LD) - A deluge of articles have been quickly put into circulation defending France's military intervention in the African nation of Mali. TIME's article, "The Crisis in Mali: Will French Intervention Stop the Islamist Advance?" decides that old tricks are the best tricks, and elects the tiresome "War on Terror" narrative.

TIME claims the intervention seeks to stop "Islamist" terrorists from overrunning both Africa and all of Europe. Specifically, the article states: 

"...there is a (probably well-founded) fear in France that a radical Islamist Mali threatens France most of all, since most of the Islamists are French speakers and many have relatives in France. (Intelligence sources in Paris have told TIME that they’ve identified aspiring jihadis leaving France for northern Mali to train and fight.) Al-Qaeda in Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), one of the three groups that make up the Malian Islamist alliance and which provides much of the leadership, has also designated France — the representative of Western power in the region — as a prime target for attack."

What TIME elects not to tell readers is that Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) is closely allied to the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG whom France intervened on behalf of during NATO's 2011 proxy-invasion of Libya - providing weapons, training, special forces and even aircraft to support them in the overthrow of Libya's government.

Neo-Cons for Human Rights?

Cracking the Conundrum

As counter-intuitive as it may sound, a great deal of Neo-Conservatives are deeply involved in human rights. One may wonder in what capacity, since this war mongering clique of big-business connected scoundrels is renowned for its role in the most unprecedented, flagrant, and grievous human rights violations in American history.

Their signature can be found scrawled across the evisceration of the US Bill of Rights via the Patriot Act, the fake "War on Terror," the resulting Abu Ghraib atrocities and the very existence of the Guantanamo Bay facility in Cuba. One of the very crimes in fact that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has been pinned with was helping facilitate the CIA's extra-legal rendition and torture program dreamed up under the Neo-Conservative packed Bush Administration. If ever there was an "Axis of Evil" these men certainly deserve a place within it.

The most ardent supporters and architects of "George Bush's War on Terror" can be found within the unscrupulous confines of the Project for the New American Century (PNAC). Notable signatories of PNAC's various and ranting statements include:

Kenneth Adelman, Frank Gaffney, Frank Carlucci, Robert Kagan, Richard Perle, Daniel Pipes, Francis Fukuyama, Lewis Libby, Vin Weber, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, Steve Forbes, Jeb Bush, Elliot Abrams, Dick Cheney, Dan Quayle, Richard Armitage, John Bolton, Robert Zoellick, Zalmay Khalilzad, William Kristol, Paula Dobriansky, Max M. Kampelman, Will Marshall, Leonard Sussman, Ellen Bork, and Elliot Abrams.

Throughout PNAC's archives we find letter after letter of frothing war mongering, enthusiastic celebration for the unfolding "War on Terror," and an eerie anticipation for a "new Pearl Harbor" just one year before 9/11.

Strange then indeed that so many of these same Neo-Conservatives are also prominent members of America's most active organizations funding and supporting human rights NGOs worldwide. Francis Fukuyama, Zalmay Khalilzad, Frank Carlucci (2002), Will Marshall, and Vin Weber populate the board of directors of the notorious National Endowment for Democracy (NED), while Kenneth Adelman, Max M. Kampelman, Donald Rumsfeld (formally), Paula Dobriansky, Leonard Sussman, and Ellen Bork are on the board of trustees/executive committee of Freedom House. What possible explanation could there be for this apparent anomaly?

It should be no stretch of the imagination to assume "human rights" has nothing to do with the activities of NED and Freedom House, considering the villains running these organizations also run some of the most notorious corporations in America, from the private equity firm Carlyle Group, to war profiteering Halliburton and Betchel. What is also worth considering are these two organizations' recent roles throughout the world in facilitating regime change in favor of a stooge capable of catering to globalized big-business and economic liberalization.

Thailand: We saw Kenneth Adelman (PNAC, Freedom House) lobbying for deposed globalist stooge Thaksin Shinwatra via Edelman (AYM sponsor as well), various Freedom House statements berating the Thai government's handling of the globalist backed "red" color revolution, and the current funding of "red" propaganda outfit "Prachatai" by the National Endowment for Democracy.

It has been previously reported how economic liberalization has been going poorly for the globalists in Thailand, with the current government committed to nationalism and protectionism and how reinstalling Thaksin Shinwatra to rectify this is the goal of the "red" protests. As the world's largest rice exporter, containing significant reserves of natural gas, and boasting a population and potential market of 65 million people, Thailand has been a long sought after conquest of the imperial west.

Egypt: It has been reported in great depth the hoax that the Egyptian protests were, with Mohamed ElBaradei a trustee of the US International Crisis Group think-tank along side Zbigniew Brzezinski, George Soros, and the above mentioned Kenneth Adelman and Richard Armitage. The International Crisis Group has hailed the success of their man ElBaradei's work as the "rebirth of the Arab world."

The Freedom House also conveyed their elation over their success in Egypt with their piece "Freedom House Congratulates the Egyptian People." It should be noted that the Project on Middle East Democracy, which coordinated US-backed propaganda in Egypt is a NED funded NGO as is the "Solidarity Center" which organized and supported the independent labor unions that took to the Egyptian streets to bolster ElBaradei's faltering protests.

Egypt not only possesses control over the logistically central Suez Canal, but also boasts large oil reserves and a massive population and potential market of 80 million people. Its large military the United States has cultivated over the last 30 years would make a welcomed addition to a united Sunni front against Iran. With Mubarak's resignation, and the military dissolving the parliament and suspending the constitution, as per ElBaradei's demands, Egypt looks well on its way to globalist serfdom.

Algeria: With police outnumbering protesters 20 to 1, it is highly unlikely the US State Department supplied astro-turf in Algeria will make even enough chaos to justify a behind the scenes regime change similar to what transpired in Egypt. The Algerian protests are led by Ali Yahia Abdennour and Mostafa Boshashi, heads of the NED and Freedom House partnered Algerian League of Human Rights (LADDH in French).

According to AlJazeera, a united front of opposition has been formed including "opposition parties, civil society movements and unofficial unions inspired by the mass protests in Tunisia and Egypt." Of course, it was pointed out that a similar front in Egypt was entirely created by the US State Department and America's vast network of meddling NGOs. As information begins to trickle out of the mainstream media as to who is actually involved in these anemic protests it is becoming clear such is the case in Algeria as well.

The role of the US State Department and corporate funded Movements.org in organizing and coordinating these color revolutions has also been previously discussed. It may then be interesting for readers to note a particularly bizarre call by Movements.org's Twitter account to mobilize a campaign to get Mika Brzezinski, daughter of geopolitical strategist Zbigniew Brzezinski and co-host of MSNBC's "Morning Joe," to bring attention to the Algerian protests. MSNBC is one of Movements.org's official corporate supporters.

Algeria is one of the largest countries in the Middle East and Afica. It has a population and potential market of 35 million people, the world's eighth largest natural gas reserves and the fourteenth largest oil reserves. It too would make a fine addition to the globalists' sprawling, parasitic world empire.

Iran: While NED and Freedom House's inroads into Iran are somewhat ambiguous at the moment, it should be pointed out that the globalist Neo-Conservative clique outright supports war and regime change with the encircled Islamic Republic. As pointed out in "Brookings' "Which Path to Persia?"" the US government has openly funded color revolutions via the "Iran Freedom Support Act. The Brookings report also details the funding of terrorist groups inside of Iran, an operation apparently already ongoing according to journalist Seymour Hersh.

The Brookings Institute's Saban Center for Middle East Policy, from which the report came from, does feature Shadi Hamid as their Director of Research, who is also concurrently serving on the NED funded Project on Middle East Democracy's (POMED) board of directors. And indeed, despite the overt nature of the attempted foreign-backed regime change in Iran, POMED is already involved in disseminating propaganda on the operation's behalf.

Iran of course holds immense oil reserves, a strategically essential location in regards to Russia and China, and a population and potential market of 76 million people. It has been a long sought after addition to the Anglo-American empire since the fall of the Ottoman Empire.

Conclusion

On face value, most people would find it absurd that men like Donald Rumsfeld, Frank Carlucci, or Kenneth Adelman held any genuine concern for human rights. Most likely, they would recognize the very overt, public contempt such men hold the general population of the world in. It is quite obvious the nations these "human rights" NGOs are operating in contain immense economic and strategic value to the men supporting these organizations, and it also should be quite obvious that the cause of "human rights" is merely being used as a pretext to meddle extra-legally in the sovereignty of foreign nations.

When the depraved likes of war mongers like Rumsfeld, Adelman, Carlucci, Fukuyama, Weber, and Khalilzad sit on the boards of organizations claiming to stand for human rights and freedom, it disgraces these very noble concepts and jeopardizes the legitimate work being done by genuine people the world over.

It should also be noted that when the terms "civil societies" and "NGOs" are being used by the mainstream media, a globalist ploy is unfolding and we must commit ourselves to due diligence in exposing said ploy and balking it. To take away the sovereignty of a nation on the false premises contrived by these nefarious and dishonest NGOs is a real crime against humanity, a crime any Iraqi or Afghan could attest to.
